What it is

First Language Lessons is a fully scripted grammar program in four levels for the early elementary years, using copywork, narration, picture study, and poem memorization. Levels 1 and 2 are mainly oral and need only the teacher's book; Levels 3 and 4 introduce diagramming and add a student workbook. Grammar for the Well-Trained Mind is the publisher's four-year scripted grammar program for older students.

Written by the Homebuilt team from the publisher’s own materials, checked September 2026. Prices and editions change, so confirm with the publisher. Learn more: First Language Lessons series · First Language Lessons Level 1 · Grammar for the Well-Trained Mind series
