What it is

A self-teaching Latin book by William E. Linney made up of 134 short lessons, each ending with translation exercises and an answer key in the back. Free audio recordings on the publisher's website give pronunciation (classical or ecclesiastical) and the author's spoken explanation of each lesson. A sequel, Keep Going with Latin, continues the course, and a free drill app is available.

Written by the Homebuilt team from the publisher’s own materials, checked September 2026. Prices and editions change, so confirm with the publisher. Learn more: Getting Started with Latin website · Getting Started with Latin FAQ · Free audio recordings
