This site and the Homebuilt Community are operated by Homebuilt Edu LLC (“Homebuilt”, “we”). This policy says what we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and what you can do about it. It covers heymandydavis.com and the Homebuilt Community.
Who is in charge of your information

What we collect, room by room
Visiting the site. Our server keeps ordinary logs and a few cookies (listed below). Our visit counts come from software that runs on our own server. We don’t use Google Analytics, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t share visit information with advertisers. The counts work without storing your IP address.
Joining and signing in. Your email address, so we can send your sign-in link. If you tick the box, we also add you to Mandy’s email list. Your email address is never shown to other members.
The community. Your first name and drawn avatar show next to what you post. Your questions, answers, cheers, leaves, birthday notes, reviews, and Bench messages are visible to other members. Our moderators can see posts, including the ones that are held for a look. Please leave your children’s names, photos, and address out of anything you post.
The Records Office. This is where your family keeps its own records. Depending on what you use, that can include: your children’s names, birth dates, and grade levels; courses, grades, and credits; attendance; test scores; portfolio photos and work samples; notes and comments; your school’s name, address, phone, and email for the letterhead; and your name and title as administrator. A child’s legal name and birth date are used when you make a transcript. Your records are yours. Nothing your family keeps here is sold, shared, or read by anybody outside the team, and you can delete it yourself.
The Print Shop. What you pick (a topic, a level, a few choices) so we can make your sheet and keep it in your file cabinet. When a sheet is written for you, the topic you typed and the choices you tapped are sent to an outside provider that writes it. Please leave names out of the topic box.
Ask Mandy. Questions that Mandy can’t answer yet are kept with nothing that identifies you, so we can learn what to add.
Paperwork. For documents like a letter of intent, we use what you enter (a child’s legal name and birth date, your address, your school or district) to make that document and then remove it. We keep what we need to prepare next year’s filing.
Buying and plans. Payments are handled by our payment processor. We don’t see or keep your full card number. We keep a record of what you bought, your plan, and your tokens.
Contacting us. What you write in a form or an email, so we can answer.
Who helps us handle it
- A payment processor handles payments (you see it at checkout).
- An email service sends Mandy’s newsletter to the people on her list.
- An email provider sends the sign-in links and notices the site emails to you.
- An outside provider writes Print Shop sheets from the topic and choices you give, as described above.
- Our own server keeps the site, the community, and the visit counts.
We do not sell your family’s details. We do not give a child’s name, birth date, or address to any partner, advertiser, school, district, or government office.
Cookies
We use these small files:
- sbjs_first, sbjs_current, sbjs_first_add, sbjs_current_add, sbjs_session, sbjs_udata, sbjs_migrations: note how a visitor found the site (set by the shop).
- hb_ref: remembers a friend’s invitation link for 30 days.
- hb_src: remembers where a visit came from.
- hb_town_seen: remembers that you’ve seen the opening of the town.
- WordPress and shop cookies (such as wordpress_logged_in, wp-settings, and woocommerce cart cookies): keep you signed in and keep your cart.
You can block cookies in your browser. Some parts of the site, like staying signed in, need them to work.
Fonts
Our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for the font files when a page opens. Google sees that request and nothing else about you from us.
Keeping it safe
We protect your information with care: sign-in links instead of passwords, a locked server, and a small team who can see only what they need. No website can promise perfect security, but if something ever goes wrong with your information, we will tell you.
How long we keep things
We keep your account and your family’s records until you delete them or ask us to. Posts you delete stop showing to members, and we may keep a private copy for a short time for safety. Visit counts are kept as totals that don’t point to you. Payment records are kept as long as the law and our accounting require.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your family’s details. Write to info@heymandydavis.com and we will do it within 30 days. Deleting your account deletes your family’s details with it. You can leave Mandy’s email list from any email (the unsubscribe link at the bottom) or on your account page.
Readers in the UK and the EU
We are in the United States, and your information is handled here. If you live in the UK or the EU, you have the right to ask to see your information, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, take a copy of it, and object to how we use it. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. To use any of these rights, write to info@heymandydavis.com. We use your information to run the site and the community you asked to join, to carry out your purchases, and, where you ticked the box, to send Mandy’s emails.
Children
This site is for parents and educators. You must be 18 or older to have an account. We don’t knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, write to us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll update the date at the top and tell members.
